This new law is unconstitutional. it is applied retroactively and only legislation that has
extraordinary public interest is applied in such a manner. All legislation is applied on a
perspective basis (From the time it is signed forward). It is questionably a violation of
the Double Jeopardy Clause of the constitution. It is a violation of a defendats “Due
Process” right to be informed of the charges he faces, the right to confront witnesses,
the right to ber informed of the sentence he faces. it is also a violation of the members “Due Process” right to be afforded an appeals process from the “Ban”.

Thanks for the comment. It is extremely unfortunate, but perhaps inevitable that police departments would begin using this technology as a pure automated revenue generator.

It is easy for police to match expired registrations with plates out on the road, and then have citations mailed out without them having to get out of the car, or even be aware that it happened! These license plate scanners are now just passive revenue generators for the state.

They are also using them to write tickets.I recieved a ticket in the mail for nonrenewal of registration.This is bullsh**,bigbrother and they should not be able to use this technology for writing tickets to people and all the rest of the things mentioned in this article.Just plain BIGBROTHER 1984 kind of stuff,where is our freedom in this country.

Watch the news for announcements, but waiting around as a fugitive can be dangerous. If you get picked up while waiting for the right opportunity to turn yourself in, you could cause a lot of problems.

It is worth consulting with a lawyer to find out if you can work out your own deal to turn yourself in.
