difficult experence, and can be humiliating. It doesn’t matter if this

First Offense New Jersey Prositution Penalties
Generally, under New Jersey law, prostitution is considered a
disorderly persons offense, which is a misdeameanor level
charge. This means you could spend up to one year in jail for your first
prostitution charge. You could also face fines reaching $1,000, driver’s
license suspension, and community service.
Second and Subsequent Offenses - Prostitution
If this isn’t your first prostitution charge, you will face
4th degree criminal charges. This increases your potential
sentence to 18 months in prison with additional penalties. Likewise, if
a vehicle was used in the commission of the offense, you face a 6 month
suspended license.
There are situations where prostitution charges can carry even
tougher penalties.
Other Prostitution Related Criminal Offenses
If you are believed to have been involved in promoting child
prostitution, whether or not you knew the person was under the age of
18, you can face charges of a crime in the second degree.
If you promote the prostitution of another or compel someone to
engage in prostitution, you could be charged with a crime in the third
degree.
